Filmmaker Ishtar Yasin Gutiérrez uses family photographs, extracts from letters and audio recordings to construct a loving portrait of her exiled theater director father Mohsen Sadoon Yasin, and an elegy to their lost homeland of Iraq.
Biografía / Biography:
Writer born in Moscow in 1968 and based in Costa Rica. Her vocation and artistic training came directly from her inheritance: her father is the famous theater director Moshe Yasin, and her mother is the great dancer and choreographer Elena Gutiérrez, daughter of the renowned writer Joaquín Gutiérrez. His most famous work is a dramatic piece entitled Noche Cadabra, which has been premiered to great public and critical acclaim in Buenos Aires, Chile and Costa Rica.
