Synopsis:

Between Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl one day before the war. Maria, forced to marry a bandit, escapes to the woods with El Toro, fleeing from her destiny. Rosario, in love with a murdered general, watches over his grave on the skirts of a volcano. They all wander and make mistakes, walk, fall and get up, ask themselves questions, go away until they get lost in the night. A fable about lovers of the present and the past in the country of the frozen revolution.

Biography:

Pablo Escoto Luna was born in Mexico City in 1996. He studied filmmaking in Buenos Aires. In 2014 he founded the cooperative ríos de Nueva together with Salvador Amores and Jesús Núñez, dedicated to look for new ways of making movies in Mexico. In 2018 he founded the “Taller de cine” with Cat de Almeida, dedicated to teaching experimental film for children in rural areas of Mexico. In 2020 it became coordinator of Polos Audiovisuales Quintana Roo, a government program aimed at community film production in the state.
