Jimmie tells the impressionistic story of the 4-year old boy Jimmie. Seen from his eyes as he flees his home with his father, and later when looking for the father with a family of strangers who have taken him in. The fragments of Jimmies journey explores his fear of being left behind, the discovery of worlds unknown and how missing a parent really hurts.
Jesper Ganslandt born 1978 in Falkenberg, a coastal town in Sweden. He shot his feature film debut Falkenberg Farwell in 2003 with family and friends acting in the roles as themselves. Falkenberg Farwell (2006) premiered at Venice film festival followed by Toronto International Film Festival. It was then selected as Swedens entry for the Oscars in 2006. The Film I No Longer Talk About and critically acclaimed The Ape both premiered in 2009. The Ape in the Vanguard section of Toronto International Film Festival. Ganslandt followed them up with his third feature Blondie in 2012 which premiered in Venice Days and again Toronto. His new feature Jimmie he is starring together with his son Hunter Ganslandt. Jimmie and Ganslandt first english speaking feature Beast of Burden starring Daniel Radcliffe will both premiere in 2018. This summer Ganslandt is directing a new feature film based on the book ”438 days” about Swedish journalists Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson who was captured and imprisoned while working in Ethiopia.
