A tour of the corners of Chile through the observation of transport stops and the conversations of its passengers. Desert, city, sea and snow are the settings for this mosaic of everyday situations where humor, drama and the absurd are combined. A social portrait that shows a diverse and unequal territory, which reveals the desires and fractures of a country tired of waiting.
Filmmaker and writer: Carlos Araya Díaz was born in Calama, in northern Chile, 1984. He directed short films such as “Telón de fondo” (FicValdivia 2011), and Fiebre (Sanfic 2012). In 2013 his university project, “The Prodigal Son”, was part of the “Carta Blanca” section of the Locarno Film Festival. Araya is part of the MAFI collective and was one of the co-directors of “Propaganda” and “Dios”, (films awarded in Visions du Réel, 2014 and 2019). As a writer, he has published the books “Framing Exercises”, “Navigation History” and “Floating Population”.
