Displaced by the violence that swept their town, Paloma and Lobo survive trying to love each other. Through thirst, fear and nostalgia, Paloma wishes to go back home but Lobo lives bound to a memory that stops him from returning.
Carlos Lenin was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México in 1983. In 2013 he graduated from CUEC – UNAM film school with a specialization as director and cinematography. His short film ‘’Inverso 3 y media vueltas en posición C’’ (2012) screened as official selection in film festivals such as Morelia, Latin American Cinema of Sao Paulo, San Francisco Latino, Moscow Short Film Festival and took part of the best Mexican short film selection at LondonMx Fest in 2013.
Later , at the IBAFF, he had the chance to work under Abbas Kiarostami. His first feature script ‘’Ligeras Insinuaciones del Color Rojo’’was developed with a “young creators” grant from the Mexican Fund for Arts and Culture. His 2015 short film ‘’24º 51’ Latitud Norte’’ premiered at the Morelia Film Festival and screened at the IFF of Cartagena de Indias among others. In 2016 he was nominated by the Mexican Academy for best fiction short film and won the Orona Award from the San Sebastián Film Festival and the awards for Best Short Film, Cinematography, Sound, Director and Mexican PressShorts at the SHORTS México Film Festival. In 2016 he directed ‘Episodio de una espera’ a short film that won the PROMOCINE fund for local filmmakers.
