It is a short film that portrays the immigration status of two characters with different nationalities, that happen to be in the same city and with the same purpose. To find happiness and achieve the American dream. Ustin (Haiti) and Douglas (Honduras) recite a poem in which they express their feelings and frustrations after having made a long journey to reach the city of Tijuana.
Marco Aurelio Celis is a 24 year old filmmaker based in Tijuana, Mexico. He currently works in a local production company named Spécola, that has been recognized internationally by projects like Navajazo directed by Ricardo Silva which won the Golden Leopard in the Locarno International Film Festival. His short film Ruffo won second Place in the Nespresso Talents International Competition 2019 and screened at the Cannes Film Festival. He has worked as a cinematographer and director in local music videos and short films Luz de Luna and The Land We Live In. He has worked as a second assistant with director David Pablos in two music videos for the british band White Lies, and also as a drone pilot for the music video Land of the Free by The Killers, directed by Spike Lee.
Diego Quintero Lizalde is a 24 year old from Tijuana México. He works for Specola as a freelancer. Specola Is a production company from the same city. He's been working there in multiple productions like video clips, short films, movies and most of the time advertisements. He has worked in films since 2018 in The Wall of Mexico by Zachary Cotler and Magdalena Zyzak, followed by Tj Bible by Jean Charles Hue, Legacy by Roger Frazier and Cómo caído del cielo by José Bojorquez. The Land We Live In is his first project, co- directed with his partner Marco Aurelio Celis.
