Synopsis:

Max and Leo, 8 and 5 years old, are taken from Mexico to Albuquerque (USA) with Lucia, her mother, in search of a better life. While they wait for their mom to come home from work, the children explore through the window of her apartment the unsafe neighborhood inhabited by Latinos and Asians; listen to the stories, rules and English lessons that she leaves them in an old cassette recorder, they build a imaginary universe with their drawings and their yearning that their mother keep her promise of taking them to Disneyland.

 

Biography:

Samuel Kishi Leopo studied the Bachelor of Audio Visual Arts at the University of Guadalajara. His work has toured more than 100 festivals around the world, among them, Clermont Ferrand and the Berlinale competing in the Generation K plus section with their debut feature “Somos Mari Pepa”.
