Israel Ahumada (Mexico City, 1984). Bachelor of Communication and Journalism by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in 2009 enters at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica A.C. (CCC), where he entitled with top honors Summa Cum Laude with the short film Fausto en la oscuridad (2017). In 2012 he obtains the Support for the Postproduction of the Short Film by the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE) with the project Perdona nuestras ofensas (2013), which was nominated to a Silver Goddess Award as best short fiction film, in addition to having participated in over 30 festivals and international exhibitions, including: Short Film Corner – Cannes Film Festival, San Diego Latino Film Festival, Lleida Latin- American Film Festival, Paris Courts Devant, International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in La Havana and The Festival of Latin American Schools of Cinema and Audiovisual (CIBA-CILECT) in São Paulo. He is currently working on the postproduction of his documentary project Dejar la piel (WIP), which received the Doculatente Award in the Documentary Lab DOCULAB – FIC Guadalajara. This recognition consisted in their presence with the project at IDFA Academy on the 27th International Documentary Festival Amsterdam.
Tormented by pain, grievous memories and old age in a merciless solitude, the cantankerous and sullen Fausto, who goes leaving traces of bitterness behind himself, understands that never changes the final destination: return eventually to the nothingness from which we came.
