Sinopsis / Synopsis:
During the winter solstice, a group of modern Mexicans gather to observe the sun emerging from the peak of the Popocatépetl. This cosmogeographic event served as a marker in the horizon calendar, an ancient technology to keep track of time.
Biografía / Biography:
Eduardo Makoszay Mayén is a filmmaker, researcher, and writer. His projects interweave transdisciplinary research processes concerning ecology, technology, and cosmogony. Eduardo co-organizes Materia Abierta, a summer school on theory, art, and technology. His films have screened at Ji.hlava, FICUNAM, Sitges, Open City Docs, CPH:DOX and Black Canvas.
