Sinopsis / Synopsis:
When Vadim Kostrov accompanied young couple Katya and Kostya to a nearby lake, and filmed them with the directness for which he is known, he couldn’t foresee the political implications of these images. At the time Kostya was about to join the Russian military – a decision he came to regret later on. It’s breathtaking to witness the film’s playful innocence, while at the same time measuring every word against the destructive nature of war.
Biografía / Biography:
Born on the 17th of August 1998 in Nizniy Tagil, Ural, Russia. In 2016 moved to Moscow. In 2017 studies in VGIK (Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography) on the faculty Dramaturgy. Shoots his first short documentary film. The Silent Night solely on iPhone.
In July 2022 Kostrov presented his film Fall at FIDMarseille. In October 2022 he presented his new film «I Saw» at Doclisboa in international competition. In 2023 presented his new shot film «Still Free» at Berlin’s Critic’s Week.
