Sinopsis / Synopsis:
Tio Kevin is a portrait of Kayla, the director, and her uncle as they navigate themes of grief, loss and family. The film follows their return to the family cottage for the first time since the death of José, a father, grandfather and husband. Night falls on the snowy forest of Lake Morgan and the memory of the deceased comes to life amidst the silence.
Biografía / Biography:
Kayla Fragman is a documentary filmmaker based in Tiohtià:ke, Montreal. Themes of filiation, memory and immigration are at the core of their artistic practice. Kayla is currently in research for their first feature-length documentary. Kayla notably directed Ilha da Rainha (2019) which obtained the Grand Prize of the National competition of short student films at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma.
