Lin is a documentary director in her early thirties. After breaking up with her long-term boyfriend, she suffers an emotional crisis. She chooses to deal with it on her own, but still responds openly to the people she meets and the world around her. As time passes and life goes on, her emotional wounds start to heal.
SONG Fang studied film direction at INSAS (Institut national supérieur des arts du spectacle et des techniques de diffusion) in Belgium, and went on to obtain a Master’s degree (also in direction) at Beijing Film Academy. In 2009 her short film Good-bye (Gao Bie) won Second Prize at Cinéfondation in Cannes Film Festival. In 2012 her debut feature Memories Look at Me won the Best First Feature Prize at Locarno International Film Festival. Later that year, the film also received the Special Jury Prize at Tokyo FILMEX and the Grand Prize at Brazil’s International Women Film Festival. It was invited to numerous international film festivals including those in New York, London, Busan and Rotterdam.
